Doubtless you’re expecting an interminable blog about the unpublished novel I’m struggling with and my advice for other struggling writers--neither of which, if you’re honest, you’re really interested in because the fact it’s unpublished makes you suspect it’s not very good and therefore my advice is not worth much...

You might, on the other hand, be generally interested in what I write when I’m not a frustrated novelist sticking pins in a Nick Hornby doll:

Currently available--Two plays for schools:
  1. The Strange Tale of St Sharon’s (comedy thriller, suitable for performance as a school play by Year 6 upwards, large cast, mainly female) Constance, a Chemistry Prize winner with no friends, would give anything to be as popular as Maria, head girl of St Sharon’s Preparatory School for the Daughters of Gentlefolk. Then headmistress Mrs Kinsman is taken ill in mysterious circumstances, and her shadowy replacement, Miss Darkman, offers to make Constance's dream a reality. But why would anyone give the role of Head Girl to the least popular girl in the school? And why have all the staff started behaving so strangely? Then Constance stumbles upon the sinister truth. The whole school is in danger; but can she convince anyone to believe her?
  2. The Prisoner of Polygonia-A maths adventure. Visit www.polygonia.co.uk.
  3.
Other current writing activities
  1. I write prose and drama for the corporate world: scripts and sketches which capture some realistic aspect of organisational life--with perhaps a hint more drama (and a couple of decent gags)--based on scenarios (and in-jokes....) supplied by the client. You can’t watch any as they are client confidential, but you can read my scurrilous business column at www.fridayalternative.co.uk.
  2.
And in my murky artistic past....
  1. I started as a Theatre-in-Education scriptwriter, then wrote sketches for Capital Radio, and co-wrote the topical comedy The Chuzzlewick Report with Stuart Morris for BBC Radio London. In the 90s I co-wrote (with Nigel Cassidy) seven series of The Board Game for BBC Radio 4, and co-authored (with Ralph Lewis) two management books for Kogan Page.
